Challenge 61: un groupe de valises

Les valises sont prêtes, bientôt nous partirons en vacances en Bretagne. Nous attendions ce moment avec impatience!

The bags are ready, soon we will leave on holiday to Brittany. We waited this moment impatiently!

Here is another version of this drawing: I added a background. Which version do you prefer?

Laurent,
I like the clean contrast of #1 best, but both are lovely.

Your group is really nice. I love the shading. Hope you have a great holiday. We leave in a little over a week, as well.

HAPPY TRAVELING!! And glorious bags! I like the first sketch - probably because the background doesn't detract from the fantastic line and wash you achieved ...

Great drawing of the bags, Laurent, and what a nice way to start a trip! I look forward to seeing your sketches when you get back.

I like the crisp look of the first drawing. The plain background lets the eye enjoy the beautiful line work and soft washes to full effect.

happy safe traveling to you.

I prefer the one with added background - to me it suggests more of a story - they have arrived somewhere mysterious - or maybe they have been left behind!
Wonderful sketch anyway.

Wish I were going with you. I loved Paris when I was there. Your collection is very nice.

What a terrific sketch! Hard to decide which one I prefer - but my gut tells me I like the first one best. Have a wonderful trip!

Hi Laurent, I think I like number 1 better because it is less busy and they eye does not get so lost. I really like your work.

Bon Voyage, Laurant! Your blog is one of my favorites - you do some really beautiful work. My step-daughter, who teaches French at our local high school, leaves today for 10 days in France with eleven students from her advanced class. I wish I could have gone along. Maybe next time.
